A single right turn lane will be installed at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and Green Oak Drive.
The lane will help drivers heading west along Kingwood Drive, toward US-494, make a northbound turn onto Green Oak Drive.
The other existing lanes will shift south, calling for some work on the nearby median to accommodate the shift.
The busy intersection has been stretched to the extreme with commuters heading to the cluster of nearby businesses, which include a stand-alone Starbucks, Kingwood Psychiatry, Fountain Skin Care Center and more.
Construction is expected to start this month and wrap up during the first quarter of 2010.Kingwood Drive, Green Oak Drive turn lane: A right turn lane at westbound Kingwood Drive will shift traffic at the intersection of Green Oak Drive.

People killed on nation highways almost 60 percent—died in crashes caused when their vehicles veered from the lane. Vehicle left the roadway to roll over or impact one or more natural or man-made objects, such as trees, utility poles, bridge walls, embankments, or guardrails. American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), by resolution of their Board of Directors in October 2007, embarked on a plan to cut fatalities an immediate impact on fatal and injury crash reduction through low-cost, quick implementation, highway and heavily traveled streets infrastructure improvements and further still, by focusing a concerted effort on lane-departure crashes, which are such a substantial portion of all fatal crashes.
