With the new year will comes an impulse to take a fresh look at habits, relationships and more. Two local churches offer events that might get 2010 off to a good start:

St. Martha Catholic Church will have Christian recording artist and author John Michael Talbot in concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8. The event is free, with donations earmarked for Talbot’s Arkansas ministry, The Brothers and Sisters of Charity. Check out the church Web site at www.stmartha.com, for more information.

Second Baptist Church will offer the Get Fit Challenge from Jan. 18 to March 11. The program has an individual weight loss challenge and team fitness challenge with prizes for the winner. For more information, go to www.second.org for events at the north campus.
