    Kingwood resident joins accounting firm

    Kingwood resident Colby B. Warr, CPA has joined Weaver, one of the largest independent certified public accounting firms in the nation, as a senior manager for Assurance Services in the firm’s Houston office.

    Warr brings to Weaver 10 years experience in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ energy assurance practice, where he served small and large oil and gas companies. His practice concentration is in financial statement audits and reviews, due diligence and agreed-upon-procedures.

    “Colby’s knowledge and experience in the energy industry will add further depth to our extensive energy presence,” said John Mackel, CPA, partner and energy niche director. “We look forward to leveraging his experience to continue growing our energy Assurance Services practice.”

    His industry experience includes all aspects of the energy arena, including multinational majors and national oil companies, as well as local owners and operators; upstream and downstream activities; retail energy and utility providers, including retail natural gas and wind energy companies. He has experience in carve-out audits, start-up/development-stage companies, joint venture accounting, IFRS conversion projects and due diligence work on a variety of acquisition sizes.

    Warr earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from Brigham Young University (BYU). His professional memberships include American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and the National Society of Accountants. His community involvement includes being a member of BYU Alumni Association and the BYU Management Society’s Houston Chapter.
