According to the Harris County Toll Road Authority's project manager, the northeastern section of Beltway 8 is slated to be completed between December 2010 and April 2011.
Toll gates are expected to be in place by Dec. 15, and they will be entirely electronic; there will be no toll booths.
Drivers using the Beltway will have to purchase EZ-tags. The section of the Beltway between U.S. 59 and Interstate 45 will continue to remain free from tolls.
