Now open for business – an upscale thrift shop that benefits local clients of the Humble Area Assistance Ministries.
Black Cat Junction, at 22310 Loop 494, is a cut above typical resale stores, with designer handbags and evening gowns, hand-blown glass and crystal, among many other items. “We have more people than ever before asking for assistance, said Diana Garbis, HAMM’s executive director. “Everything will go to local families, so you are helping your neighbors when you shop here.”
Billie Prince, who has artfully arranged merchandise ranging from furniture to jewelry, manages the shop. Plans are to have seasonal events such as a pumpkin patch, or holiday tree sales on the outside grounds in order to help raise awareness of HAAM, which is celebrating its 20-year anniversary this year. Black Cat Junction is open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The phone is 281-359-5667 (LOOP).
HAAM's other resale shop is located at 1204 First St. in Humble. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and can be reached at 281-446-0993.
