The Humble Wildcats had five players sign college football scholarships on national signing day.
Darius Tubbs signed with UTEP after catching three touchdown passes in 2009 and leading the team in catches and yards in 2008.
Xavier Maxwell also signed with Blinn Junior College after catching 39 passes for 549 yards and nine scores in 2009, while linebacker John Walker signed with the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Chris Martinez and Shannon Nettles also signed with Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Running back Kent Brooks headlined a plethora of Atascocita players who signed college football scholarships.
Brooks, despite playing half of the 2009 season with a knee injury, signed with the University of Houston.
Defensive back A.J. Pouncy and kicker Pablo Beltran also have signed with the Naval Academy, while Fred Blow has signed with the Air Force Academy.
Wide receiver Quintin Parks also is headed to Northwestern State University and Jarvis Neal will play for Southwest Baptist University.
In girls’ soccer, Kelsi Brown has committed to play at Western Carolina.
Kingwood’s Robert Singletary, Michael Schrang and Andrew Kinsella all have signed college football scholarships.
Singletary is going to play at Baylor, Schrang has inked with Louisiana Tech and Kinsella is headed to the U.S. Naval Academy.
