'Shattered Dreams' program comes to campus

The following information comes from the Humble Independent School District:

Kingwood High School will host the Shattered Dreams program on March 10-11.

Only Kingwood High School students and staff will be participating in Shattered Dreams. It is not open to the public.

However, school officials want the community to be aware of the program because it includes a full response by Houston Police, Fire/EMS, and LifeFlight. Residents in the area should not be alarmed if they see or hear numerous authorities responding to the campus on Wednesday, March 10.

All emergency response vehicles will be staged on Valley Manor prior to the start of the program, which includes a mock driving under the influence (DUI) accident scene. The mock accident scene will be staged in the faculty parking lot off of Valley Manor.

"Shattered Dreams promotes high school students making responsible decisions regarding drinking and driving," Kingwood High School Assistant Principal Steve Rosenberg said. "The program shows students how irresponsible decisions can bring a sudden end to their dreams, the dreams of innocent victims, and the dreams of families involved."

"The program shows students how irresponsible decisions can bring a sudden end to their dreams, the dreams of innocent victims, and the dreams of families involved." - It is a very interesting piece of article. It is heartening to learn that to teach the students practical lessons on making responsible decisions regarding drinking and driving, such an innovative program has been executed. Hope the message passes on to the student community.pink wine glasses
