    Keep your umbrellas and raincoats handy this week as storms move inland from the Gulf of Mexico. But the thunderstorms won't do much to break the heat. The temperatures will range from highs in the mid 90s to lows in the upper 70s and the heat index will climb to 103 to 107 degrees. The showers will be widely scattered and will taper off by the weekend and Labor Day.

    Destiny Valdez and Kristina Thompson are happy to be a part of Quest Early College High School’s Class of 2014. Quest Early College High School is a new program begun this school year with freshmen. Students are able to earn up to two years of college credit at no cost to the family while they are in high school. Students join the program after eighth grade. Quest is located on the second floor of Summer Creek High School. Applications to QECHS will be made available to eighth graders in spring 2011. Information about QECHS is available at www.humbleisd.net.
