Pro Baseball: Matthew Crocker, Casper Ghosts
published Jul. 1, 2011Matthew Crocker pitched two innings, striking out one and allowing no earned runs Thursday in the Casper Ghosts's 7-6 loss to the Idaho Falls Chukars. Crocker graduated from Northeast Christian Academy High School.
Crocker is a 2007 graduate of Northeast Christian Academy. He played three seasons (2008 to 2010) of college baseball at the University of Texas-San Antonio. He appeared in 34 career games for the Roadrunners going 8-6 with a 4.63 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 93.1 innings. Crocker was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 12th round (380th overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. He began his pro career in 2010 with Casper of the Pioneer League (Rookie) going 2-0 with a 5.62 ERA in 13 relief outings. Crocker was born May 24 1989 in Kingwood. Read more...
