College Baseball: Kyle Finnegan, Texas State

Kyle Finnegan pitched four innings, striking out one and allowing no earned runs Thursday in Texas State's 10-4 loss at Northwestern State. Finnegan graduated from Humble Kingwood High School in 2010.

A 2010 graduate of Kingwood High School, Finnegan played baseball for coach Kelly Mead. As a senior, 2009-2010, he garnered first-team all-district honors as he led the team to a 27-7 record and a district crown. Finnegan was also picked to play in the Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association all-star game. A business major at Texas State, he is the son of William and Kelly Finnegan. Read more...

Taylor Taska went 3 for 4 with two RBIs in Texas A&M University-Kingsville's 8-5 loss to University of the Incarnate Word on Thursday. Taska graduated from Humble Kingwood High School in 2009.

Taska is a 2009 graduate of Kingwood High School where he helped the team to consecutive playoff berths. As a senior 2008-2009 he batted .393 and he complied a 1.02 ERA as a junior 2007-2008.
