Kingwood church choirs to unite to perform 'Coronation Mass'
Kingwood's Strawbridge United Methodist Church will host a program featuring the joint choirs of Strawbridge United Methodist Church and Kingwood United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 3, at 7 p.m.
The free concert, designed to enrich the Lenten season, will include Mozart's Coronation Mass "Hallelujah," Beethoven's "Christ on the Mount of Olives" and John Rutter's choral benediction, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You."
Richard Aslanian, director of music for Strawbridge United Methodist Church, and Gary Showalter, director of music for Kingwood United Methodist Church, will conduct the choirs as they perform with soloists and an orchestra. This is the first time the choirs have ever performed together.
A reception will follow the concert in the Strawbridge Activity Center.
The Strawbridge United Methodist Church is located at 5629 Kingwood Drive.
