Dispose of batteries, oil, paint at Kingwood collection event

Council Member Mike Sullivan will be hosting a batteries, oil, paint, anti-freeze and electronic waste neighborhood collection event in Kingwood on Saturday, March 26.

The event will take place at the Kingwood Metro Park & Ride, 3210 W. Lake Houston Parkway. Collection will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m.

Sullivan said he is excited to see this event brought back to Kingwood. "It is great to work with organizations such as Keep Kingwood Green and the city of Houston's Solid Waste Management Department to bring these types of events to Kingwood," Sullivan said.

Keep Kingwood Green will also be hosting a recycling and educational fair at the drop-off location.

A composting demonstration as well as other recycling initiatives and informational pamphlets will be available.

Additional items to be collected include appliances and Styrofoam - blocks and wedges only, no cups, peanuts or containers.

For more information, contact Sullivan's office at 832-393-3008.
