Autism benefit seeks birdie guesses

The Houston Golf Association will sponsor its annual Shell Houston Open Birdies for Charity program, benefiting Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT).

To enter, participants guess the number of birdies scored in the PGA Shell Houston Open, set for March 28 through April 3 at Redstone Golf Club. Those who guess correctly win a chance at a 2011 Toyota Camry.

According to the press release, participants can choose to pledge a flat donation in multiples of $20 (one guess per $20), or choose to pledge one penny per birdie scored (one guess per penny). The number of birdies scored in any given year is usually between 1,500 and 1,800.

To enter, email Cindy Cooper at cindy.cooper@sbcglobal.net by March 28. Include the participant’s name, address, telephone number and birdie guess for each pledge or donation made.
