Melissa Gonzalez named dean at Lone Star College-North Harris
Lone Star College-North Harris has named Melissa Gonzalez as the new dean of the Computer Information Technology Division.
In her new position, Gonzalez will oversee the college’s departments of Computer Information Technology, Visual Communication and Business.
Gonzalez most recently served as an associate professor of management in the School of Business and director of the management programs at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she had been a faculty member since 2003.
“We are very fortunate to bring someone the caliber of Dr. Gonzalez on board at LSC-North Harris,” said Steve Head, president, in a press release. “She brings an impressive combination of education and experience, along with a clear dedication to student success.”
Gonzalez holds a bachelor's degree in finance and a MBA and Ph.D. in international business management from the University of Texas–Pan America.
Gonzalez previously worked in the Student Services Department at Pan America, and at the Roma Independent School District and South Texas Community College.
