Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to feature Humble student artwork
The artwork of seven Humble Independent School District students will be featured at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Their work was chosen from more than 500 pieces submitted for display through the school's art program.
Receiving Best of Show honors and selected to advance were Kingwood Park High School senior Artee Patel for "Texas Machine," Riverwood Middle School eighth-grader Caroline Bell for "A Million Feathers" and Hidden Hollow Elementary School third-grader Chloe Langston for "Rooster."
Receiving Gold Medal Awards and selected to advance were Kingwood Park High School sophomore Sara Hansen for "1953 Chevy Pickup," Kingwood High School senior Natalia Gonzales for "The Enclosure Machine," Humble Middle School eighth-grader Brianna Ware for "Tomorrow Hopes We Have Learned Something From Yesterday" and Atascocita Springs Elementary School fifth-grader Carly Feleccia for "Midnight Ride."
Fifty pieces will be chosen for auction to benefit student scholarships. The auction brings in more than $1 million annually.
