Police investigate fatal accident on Eastex
Houston police are investigating an accident that killed a Splendora man at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 in the 23000 block of the Eastex Freeway.
Eduardo Garza, 18, suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sgt S. Sorge and Officer S. Martinez reported that Garza was driving a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck northbound on the Eastex Freeway when he failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a white Isuzu flatbed tractor trailer truck.
The driver of the Isuzu, who was not at fault, was questioned and released at the scene.
