Local students granted $1,000 Comcast scholarships
Comcast recently awarded 50 Houston-area students with $1,000 college scholarships as part of its Leaders and Achievers scholarship program (35 are pictured).
Three Houston-area students recently were awarded $1,000 scholarships by Comcast, as part of its Leaders and Achievers program.
Lauren Martinez, of Humble, Alexander Douglas, of Atascocita, and Katherine Mazanek, of The Woodlands, were recognized.
The scholarships identify students whom act as catalysts for positive change in their communities. Recipients are involved in their schools and serve as models for fellow students.
All three plan to attend University of Texas at Austin. Martinez wants to major in political science and government. Douglas will explore petroleum engineering. Mazanek will study business.
