Kingwood company awards Alexandra Salomon scholarship

Alexandra Salomon was awarded one of the 2012 Insperity Merit Scholarships.

Insperity, a company providing human resources and business performance solutions, recently awarded student Alexandra Salomon one of the 2012 Insperity Merit Scholarships.

This scholarship is awarded every year to the children of corporate employees of Insperity as well as the children of employees at client companies. The scholarship is administered through the National Merit Scholarship Corp.

Salomon will receive $1,000 for each year of college she will attend, up to four years. She was chosen based on her academic record; her contributions to the school and community; her test scores; school recommendations; and a student essay about personal characteristics, plans and goals.

Salomon will be graduating as valedictorian from Calabasas High School in Calabasas, Calif. She is an AP Scholar and a Goldseal Bearer from the California Scholarship Federation. She plans to attend Northwestern University and pursue a career in biomedical engineering and research. She has also been a Girl Scout for 12 years, during which she served as vice president of her troop for three years.
