Summer symposium, sale to take place July 28
The Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens summer symposium and sale will take place at the end of July.
The Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens summer symposium and sale will take place at the end of July.
The event begins at 8 a.m. July 28 at Mercer Arboretum, located at 22306 Aldine Westfield Road, and will feature speakers throughout the day and allow for those in attendance to view various plants.
There will also be a workshop that focuses on hard and bold tropical-looking plants that can withstand heat and humidity, according to a press release.
Gardening experts will share tips on plant selection and water conservation at the event. Experts in attendance will include David Glover, Mike Lowery, Gary Outenreath and Tom Keepin.
A tour of Mercer's tropical plants will also be given.
The fee for the symposium is $70 for TMS members and $85 for nonmembers. The fee includes handouts, lunch and early entrance to the plant sale. Registration is required by Monday, July 16.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the event concludes at 3 p.m.
