Six Kingwood runners complete Marine Corps Marathon

Six athletes from Kingwood completed the Marine Corps Marathon on Oct. 28 in Arlington, Va.

The runners from Kingwood and their finishing times were Brooke Sizer, 25, 3:25:59; Elizabeth Fluker, 44, 3:49:18; Marisa Maxey, 40, 3:57:13; Maaike Saenz, 45, 4:10:01; Jose Solis, 44, 4:20:46; and Jim Sizer, 56, 4:36:24.

According to Marine Corps Marathon organizers, a total of 23,520 runners finished the 26.2-mile race.

Augustus Maiyo, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was the men's overall winner with a time of 2:20:20, while Hirut Guanqul, of Ellicott City, Md., was the winner in the women's category with a time of 2:42:03.
