Houston Arts Alliance awards grants to Kingwood artists
The Houston Arts Alliance recently gave 146 awards totaling $3,217,740 to Houston-area artists and arts organizations.
According to a press release, the HAA grants program provides funding and technical assistance to support nonprofit arts organizations involved in experimental visual arts, performance groups and cultural organizations that reflect the area's diverse population.
"HAA is pleased to enable artists and arts organizations to thrive by connecting the nonprofit arts to the larger creative industry, the community and government," Houston Arts Alliance CEO Jonathon Glus said in the release. "Houston's vibrant arts community is one of the dynamic livability factors that draw tourists to our city."
Arts organizations use the HAA grants for operating support and arts projects, and individual artists receive awards through the Individual Artist New Works Fellowship Program that are targeted to an artist's development and presentation of new works.
The Houston Arts Alliance is located at 3201 Allen Parkway, Suite 250, Houston.
