Seize the day, says homecoming king

Inspired by his parents and his older brother, Charlie, Kingwood High School senior and homecoming king Ian Wood is passionate about living up to his potential and taking advantage of every opportunity that comes his way. “I’ve been given a lot in life,” he said, “and I want to make sure I don’t squander any of it.” When asked what three items he can’t live without, Wood said, “My lacrosse stick, a source of music and my lucky fuzzy dice.”

FAVORITE AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITY: Lacrosse. “It’s a great challenge physically and mentally, and all my closest friends are on the team.”
FAVORITE TV SHOW: “30 Rock”
FAVORITE MOVIE: “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. “I first saw them as a child, and they completely captured my imagination. Even now I find them to be great, substantive and entertaining movies.”
FAVORITE BOOK: “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien. “It’s a great work of literature that explores some great themes such as character, heroism, courage and more.”
AMBITION: “I plan to study business or entrepreneurship at a university and possibly pursue an MBA.”
