Kingwood runners complete GE Run Thru the Woods (5-Mile Run)
A total of 21 athletes from Kingwood completed the GE Run Thru the Woods (5-Mile Run) on Nov. 22 in The Woodlands.
The runners from Kingwood and their finishing times were Heather Hamilton, 31, 30:42; David Rubin, 21, 31:26; Elizabeth Beltis, 34, 34:11; Jacqueline Nolen, 47, 35:45; Brian Rubin, 16, 35:17; Katheryn Nolen, 17, 37:52; John Bjornstad, 33, 38:41; Jeff Lambert, 26, 40:53; Gerald Navaretta, 66, 41:02; Jessica Rubin, 19, 41:23; Chandra Elizondo, 37, 43:17; Becca Rubin, 17, 43:25; Derek Nolen, 52, 43:35; Jeff Rubin, 48, 45:44; Misty Mills, 34, 46:07; Stacie Rubin, 48, 46:24; Mike Polarek, 59, 49:31; Keturah Johnson, 35, 50:04; Rachel Bubier, 23, 53:38; George Roffe, 52, 54:21; and Dorothy Nolen, 79, 1:01:46.
According to race organizers, a total of 2,150 runners finished the 5-mile race, which began and ended at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
Philip Schneider, of Colorado, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 24:29, while Melissa Cook, of Flower Mound, was the winner in the women's category finishing with a time of 28:01.
