Kingwood optometrist welcomes new doctor
Dr. Stephen E. Gustafson recently welcomed a new addition to his Kingwood optometrist practice.
According to a press release, Dr. David H. Steed has joined Gustafson's office located at 1388 Stonehollow Drive, Suite No. 1, Kingwood.
Steed, who obtained his O.D. degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and has practiced in several private settings, specializes in working with children and utilizing vision therapy to manage and correct strabismus and amblyopia. He also has expertise in contact lenses, low vision and the management of dry eye and lid disease.
"The addition of Dr. Steed to my optometric practice has already attracted several new families," Gustafson said in the release. "They appreciate his energy, his devotion and his special knowledge of children's vision. Our practice will continue to provide full scope vision care as we have done over the last 34 years."
Gustafson, who first opened his office in 1978, said that Steed exhibits a similar vision to his concerning private practices.
"It was important to me at the time to practice in a private, professional setting and to develop strong, lasting relationships with my patients," Gustafson said in the release. "Dr. Steed brings the same professional attitude and places a premium on the doctor-patient connection that continues to thrive in a small office setting. There is something about the large, multi-doctor, corporate structure that never appealed to either one of us."
Dr. Steed will see patients Mondays and Thursdays.
