Lone Star College-Kingwood to host blood drive Jan. 31, Feb. 1
Lone Star College-Kingwood will host a blood drive Thursday, Jan. 31 and Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.
The event will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on both dates.
No appointments are necessary; anyone can show up during those times to donate, according to an announcement from the school. Giving whole blood takes 30 to 45 minutes and double red cell donation takes 45 to 60 minutes, the school said.
Blood donors are required to bring a personal photo ID (such as a state-issued driver's license or ID, passport, military ID, work ID, school ID, green card or work visa); be at least 17 years of age; weigh a minimum of 110 pounds; be hydrated prior to donating; eat a sensible meal within two to four hours before; and be in good general health. Donors will receive an appreciation gift and refreshments.
The event will be held in a donor coach in parking lot C at at Lone Star College-Kingwood, 20000 Kingwood Drive, Houston.
