Kingwood Park grad Brown plays in Coast Guard loss

Kingwood Park High School graduate Larla Brown scored nine points at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy's 49-34 home loss to conference rival Babson College Tuesday, Jan. 8 at New London, Conn., the Coast Guard Academy website reported.

Brown also recorded one steal and a block for the Bears, who are 4-7 on the season and 2-4 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference.

U.S. Coast Guard Academy's next game is 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at home against Springfield College.

Brown, a 5-foot-10 junior forward for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, is a 2010 graduate of Kingwood Park High School. She is a Kingwood native.
