YMCA Bridge Fest 5K run/walk set for Feb. 2 in Kingwood
The 21st annual YMCA Bridge Fest 5K will take place Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Lake Houston Family YMCA in Kingwood.
The event will start at 7 a.m.
According to a press release from the Lake Houston Family YMCA, "Bridge Fest is a celebration of the opening of the Lake Houston Parkway Bridge, which links the communities of Kingwood, Atascocita and Humble. It is a 5K (3.1 mile) race for runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities and ages. Net proceeds benefit the YMCA Partners Campaign of the Lake Houston Family YMCA and East Montgomery County YMCA. The Partners Campaign provides financial assistance to families who cannot afford the cost of YMCA programs."
The event offers three races. The half-mile race for ages 6 and younger begins at 8 a.m.; the one-mile race for children ages 7-12 starts at 8:30 a.m.; and the 5K run and walk for all ages and abilities will begin at 9 a.m.
All races start at the Lake Houston Family YMCA, 2420 W. Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood.
