Kingwood Park grad Brown plays in Coast Guard loss

Kingwood Park High School graduate Larla Brown scored seven points as the U.S. Coast Guard Academy lost 59-45 at home to conference rival Wellesley Wednesday, Jan. 16, in New London, the Academy website reported.

Brown also recorded two assists and a block for the Bears, who are 6-8 on the season and 4-5 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference.

The Academy's next game is 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Babson.

Brown, a 5-foot-10 junior forward for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, is a 2010 graduate of Kingwood Park High School. She is a Kingwood native.
